Irons

The appliance produces less steam than before. What should I do?

The steam output may have decreased because the steam vents in the soleplate are partly blocked by scale or dirt.

Step 1. Clean the vents with a cotton bud and a damp cloth.
Step 2. Wipe scale and other deposits off the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner.

Problems with the soleplate?

  • Water dripping out of the holes of the soleplate has to do with the temperature adjustment. If the temperature is set too low, then the water is not fully converted into steam. Set the right temperature on the iron for the right fabric. This way the steam control is adjusted accordingly.
  • Cleaning the soleplate of your iron is easy. Wipe it using a moist cloth while the soleplate is cooled down. Do not use chemicals as these could damage the coating of the soleplate.
  • Better gliding irons are sometimes misleading. The soleplate of an iron should not only glide well but should also stretch clothes. When choosing an iron, it is important to consider the material and the shape of the soleplate. Pacific irons are specially designed with the balance of gliding and stretching on fabrics to produce the best results.
  • Stains on the soleplate are caused when spraying starch on the garments. Spray on the reverse side of the garment, and this will prevent the hot soleplate from sticking to the starch. If you are not sure, always start ironing at a lower temperature setting.

Microwave Ovens

How can I tell if a dish can be used in the microwave oven?

By knowing if a utensil is safe to use in a microwave oven, perform a test. Place the empty dish in the microwave oven and operate the oven on HIGH power level for 30 seconds. If the dish becomes very hot, then it should not be used.

How do I clean the inside of my oven?

To clean the interior surfaces, wipe with a soft cloth and warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners or scouring pads. For heavier soil, use baking soda or a mild soap; rinse thoroughly with hot water. Never spray oven cleaners directly onto any part of the oven.

Electric Kettle Pot
